Growing...

The girl is growing up too fast- that's just all there is to it. It's like one day I had this tiny, squishy little baby and now I have this baby who is right on the cusp of toddlerhood. She's trying REALLY hard to crawl and walk. I'm not sure which skill she wants to master first... And wow, the thought of her being mobile scares me... really scares me. Heck, if you have been to our house lately, you would know it's not baby proofed- I have reason to be scared! We better get to work on that this weekend. Kaycie is at such a fun stage though, she laughs, plays, blows bubbles, babbles away in her own little language... the daycare teachers say she says Momma a lot, but I only ever hear DaDa. Little stinker! Here's a new picture of her, and her infamous tooth. Yep, still one... my girl likes to do everything in her own time...

Sweet Dreams...

Ah, the coveted sleep in 6 plus hour stretches! We have actually been really lucky- Kaycie slept through the night around 9 weeks, right about the time I went back to work... it's like she knew Mommy needed her sleep. That only lasted a few weeks though and then we didn't get long stretches again till around 7 months- I still consider myself lucky though.

It's funny though, I spent months consumed with the thoughts of sleep... how to get her to sleep without crying, how to make her stay asleep after I set her down, how to get her to sleep through the night... and now when she pretty consistantly sleeps through the night- we miss her! Every night when Cory comes to bed, he has me turn the monitor ALL the way up so he can hear her little breaths. Just to be sure.

And I wake up missing her little snores and knowing she is just a few feet from me dreaming those sweet baby dreams. But, it is nice to be rested and go into her room in the mornings to find her smiling and so happy to see me. My little girl is growing up so fast!

Time flies when you are having fun...

It really couldn't be more true when I look at Kaycie~ she's nine months old today. Wow, I can not believe it has already been nine months. She's growing, changing, and tightening that grip she has on my heart more and more each day. When I look at her sweet little face I can't believe she is that same baby I felt kicking from within or the same baby girl who would nurse for hours on end those first few weeks. She's pulling up on everything, wanting to stand. She is so ready to walk, but has no desire to crawl. None, and you can't spark a desire either- she'll outsmart you... she can roll, and you just can't stop her! It's been such a fun journey so far, and I can not wait to see what the future brings for our little family of three!

Don't you just long for the days when leg chubb and a belly were adorable in a swimsuit?
